# OLED Longevity

## Summary

OLED is still a relatively new display panel technology and one that is evolving.

Many of us have experience with IPS panels now for 25+ years and have developed a sense of how they will work over time. For my part, I keep my IPS panels on 24/7 and have not noticed any color degradation.

With OLED we don't have the same intuition and so we are naturally worried about how long they will last.

## Conclusions?

Personally, I don't think enough time has passed to clearly take a position on OLED longevity. So I am very careful about turning off my OLED panels whenever I am not actively using them.
