# Enable tilt for brushes

## Overview

Almost all drawing tablets send pen tilt data to the computer. Wacom consumer tablets are a notable exception.

Assuming your tablet is sending tilt data, you may want tilt to control what you draw. This document explains how to configure your application so it can take advantage of tilt.

## Drivers

First, make sure your tablet drivers are installed. Typically, they are necessary to take advantage of tilt.

## Tilt in Clip studio paint

Here is an example of how to configure tilt in Clip Studio Paint.

* A simple example is the **Calligraphy** brush in CSP.
* Open **Brush Settings**, then go to **Brush Size**.
* Click the **up arrow** at the end of **Brush Size**.
* A dialog called **Brush Size Dynamics** will open.
* There are four checkboxes that control what affects the brush size.
* Disable everything, then enable **Tilt**.
* Note: it is not required to disable everything, but it makes it easier to see how tilt affects size when only tilt is enabled.
* Once the brush is configured, you should see tilt affecting the brush size.
* After that, you can adjust other brush settings and have tilt affect other brush properties.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sevenpens.com/drawtab/guides/drawing/enable-tilt-for-brushes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
