# Achieving paper-like texture

Generally speaking, the "paper feeling" is not exactly reproducible on any kind of drawing tablet, though there is one exception.

So, by default, no drawing tablet has a texture that comes close to the feeling of paper.

There is one way to get a true paper experience, though. For a pen tablet, you can tape paper on top of the tablet. While this is not very common, some people do it, and there is nothing wrong with it. Be aware that you will likely tear through the paper, maybe even in a day. On the other hand, paper is cheap. This option obviously will not help if you use a pen display, because it will hide the display.

QUESTION: Could there be a transparent film for a pen display that provides a texture much like paper? Yes, I suppose it is possible. Would it work well? No. Any material that has this much texture will also distort the image of the display. It will make the image blurry or difficult to see.
