# Surface protectors

## Overview

Pen tablets (screenless tablets) have a plastic surface and depending on how you use them are subject to some amount of wear.

## Surface protectors do not interfere with the pen

These protective sheets do NOT interfere with how your pen works. The EMR signal from the pen, passes right through non-metallic materials such as plastic or glass.

## Manufacturer options

* XP-Pen and Huion sell screen protectors for **some** of their tablets.

## 3rd-party options

* **Foxbox** - These are very rugged and opaque sheets good for pen tablets. And you can customize them with your own images. They have a HEAVY texture and will tend to wear through your nibs. More here: [Foxbox covers](/drawtab/catalog/accessories/surface-protectors/foxbox-covers.md)

Some suppliers of screen protectors not only sell pre-cut sizes for specific tablets, but also will cut out a size to your specification for your specific tablet.
