# Wacom

## Overview

The undisputed leading brand is **Wacom** (<https://www.wacom.com>). It has a wide variety of products at different price points that should fit most needs. If you do not want to weigh the pros and cons of different brands and want an easy answer, choose Wacom.

My experience: I currently own 39 Wacom tablets - 6 pen displays and 33 pen tablets. I have extensively used every tablet in its professional series.

Here are some basic summaries of its leading tablet series:

* **Intuos Pro** - Professional pen tablets. They continue to be the best pen tablets ever made.
* **Cintiq Pro** - Professional pen displays. They continue to be the best pen displays ever made.
* **One by Wacom** - Consumer pen tablets. These are terrific beginner tablets.
* **Wacom One** - Consumer pen tablets and pen displays. Results are more mixed here.

## What Wacom does well

* Best EMR tech. This may not be obvious just by comparing specs, but its EMR tablet technology is ahead.
* Long-term reliability. Their older tablets (20+ years old) still work today if you use the appropriate driver.
* It has products for beginners, intermediate users, and professionals - but even its beginner products are very high quality.
* It has good support.
* It monitors and responds to questions on <https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom>.

## Feature availability

One thing you will notice about Wacom is that it tends to keep certain features in its professional product line. In fact, over time, it has tended to remove features from its consumer tablets and reserve them for the pro line. Other manufacturers tend to offer those features in both their consumer and professional lines.
